Apartments at the Couvent des Récollets

The Darling Foundry invites Quebec and French artists to submit their application for this France-Quebec Exchange Residency program. For over 15 years, the Darling Foundry has been coordinating this residency program that allows young French and Québec artists to experience francophone culture overseas.

This program aims to spur exchanges between artists and feed their creativity, to foster lasting links between the countries and the artistic community, to stimulate lively and memorable cultural exchanges for the artists and help them be exclusively dedicated to their creation and production.

Quebec artists stay at the Couvent des Récollets, an international centre in Paris that is exclusively for foreign artists and scientists. Lodged for three months in a furnished room with integrated workspace, artists are invited to present their work during open door events, these studio visits presenting opportunities to interact with professionals and members of the public.

The residency covers:

- Montreal – Paris flight
- €300 per week for 12 weeks
- €630 production grant
- promotion of an open doors event

French artists stay at the Darling Foundry. Located in Old Montreal (Quebec, Canada),the Darling Foundry is an alternative visual arts complex with an outstanding architectural design. The Darling Foundry provides various opportunities for research, creation, production, and exhibition. Its multifaceted spaces provide room for private studios, residency studios, technical workshops, gallery spaces, a restaurant and offices over a 3500 m2 surface.

A studio measuring 60 m2 with separate living accommodation and common living spaces are provided. Artists have access to wood and metal workshops, with technical assistance if need be. In addition, each artist is given the option to participate in open studio events, studio visits by art professionals, networking events, and excursions.

The residency covers:

- Paris - Montreal flight
