At the south-west corner of the Darling Foundry, adjacent to the main exhibition hall of the Darling Foundry, is the Cluny ArtBar.

Cluny serves breakfasts and coffees, is a popular lunch spot for local office workers, and all afternoon is a hangout for local artists. Thursday evenings it is open for drinks and supper. Other evenings it is open for special events and private bookings.

Cluny is co-owned by local residents, Patrick Meausette and Rob Hack, long time restauranteers, designers, food innovators and party hosts. They also own Café Titanic in Old Montreal.

The name Cluny

Cluny was also originally the name of a medieval French monastic order, a Scottish castle, and the Parisian art museum, all referential influences picked up in the design and spirit of the restaurant.

Cluny is also the name of Rob's lumbering black pug. He is often seen in the neighbourhood and around the art centre. Acting as as mascot for the place, the dog image is used on the business cards, signs and menus, as well as in the large light-box installation in the restaurant's lobby.

Cluny Services

Cluny is open Monday to Friday from eight in the morning until about five o'clock in the late afternoon, and Thursday evenings until about ten.
Great food, coffees and full bar are always available.
The restaurant can be booked for special functions most any weeknight, and can provide food catering to events in the exhibition hall of the art centre.
