The mission of Quartier Éphémère is to support the creation, production, and diffusion of visual artwork. It reflects on and researches the role of art and the presence of artists in the heart of the downtown city centre. By investing in vacant buildings or fallow industrial land with its on site projects, Quartier Éphémère explores urban zones off the beaten track of the contemporary art scene and opens it up to a new public. This big challenge is honoured by the poetry that the artists’ work procures when infiltrating daily life, modifying the social dynamic, interpretation, and perception of our everyday space.

Its interest in projects of exploration, sometimes at a high technical complexity or with an important risk factor, demonstrates the curiosity and the dynamic character of Quartier Éphémère. In search of crossroads and discovery, and associated with other organizations, Quartier Éphémère seeks to gather the public around communal issues such as heritage, memory, and architecture with the hope of developing a strong cultural identity that leads the public down the path of reflection.
