Rodrigue Bélanger

Rodrigue Bélanger is a young artist who is presently completing his studies at Laval University in Quebec city. For his exhibition at Quartier Éphémère, Bélanger presents a series of photographic works which are self-reflexive of the very processes invloved in photographic framing and development. Working exclusively in black and white, he isolates masses and manipulates them so as to bring our attention to the photographic gaze, ln the end, the minimalist forms with which we are confronted, stand as a testimony to th~ creative process which extends itself long after the exposure has been released.
