The work assembled for this for exhibition, do not refer to any formal theme or concept. Emblematic of a kind of backlash against the traditional group exhibition, the absence of formality between each artwork’s relationships to one another could also be understood as a means of regrouping the avant-garde in response to the neo-conservative tendency for unity, the established order, security and identity.

Along with calling into question the rules of exhibition rules, each piece in this exhibition challenges the visitors on different points. Art in this case no longer replies to the question “What is beautiful?” but more so to “What is art?” The artists work without rules and take the responsibility of having created their own. Their works are at the same time events in which the documentation itself becomes a form of artistic production.
